Dr-Alan-Urbach

Dr. Alan Urbach, D.D.S.

Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Alan Urbach has joined his father, Dr. Mark Urbach, at Urbach Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Alan has rejuvenated the practice and brings a more modern “team-centered” approach to the care of his patients. He places a great deal of importance on the development of lasting doctor-patient and doctor-parent relationships. Like most situations in pediatrics, Dr. Alan firmly believes that the best outcomes in pediatric health occur when all three components: patient, parent, and dentist develop trust, mutual respect, and honest open dialogue. Dr. Alan has observed and adopted his father’s methodology of spending extended time with his patients developing trust and reviewing patient care with parents.

Dr. Alan Urbach is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Staff Member at Texas Women’s Hospital. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, the Greater Houston Dental Society, and the Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Your children’s dental needs sometimes might require sedation dentistry. Dr. Urbach is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and holds a parenteral sedation permit from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. Dr. Alan is also certified with soft tissue lasers and is trained in frenectomies, gingivectomies, ulcer removal, biopsies, and many other soft tissue removal procedures that once required a scalpel and sutures for treatment.

Dr. Alan received a dual degree major in Biology and Psychology in 2006 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He then followed in his father’s footsteps when he was accepted at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in 2008. After graduating in the top 25% of his class, he attended Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine on Long Island, New York for his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Alan received his specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in July 2014, and joined his fathers practice in early August of 2014. Since joining, we have had raving reviews and the majority of our little patients can’t wait to see their new friend, Dr. Alan.
